HyperAI Tools - Claude Desktop Cleanup 1.0.0
Independent community utility. Not affiliated with Anthropic.

IMPORTANT
Save your work and review the source before running. These scripts do not cancel
a subscription, delete a cloud account, clear browser data or remove Claude Code.
They do not send data over the network. Only known desktop paths are considered.
Unknown installation types must be removed through operating-system settings.

MACOS
Double-click claude-cleanup-macos.command, or run it in Terminal:
  bash claude-cleanup-macos.command --dry-run
  bash claude-cleanup-macos.command
  bash claude-cleanup-macos.command --cache-only
  bash claude-cleanup-macos.command --reset-data
The default plan removes the recognized desktop app and caches, keeping local
configuration and sessions. CLEAN is required. RESET is required with --reset-data.
Files move to ~/.Trash/HyperAI-Claude-*/; manifest.tsv records original paths.
Keep this recovery folder. It can be large and does not free disk space until
you intentionally empty Trash. Quit Claude before restoring files manually.
No sudo, forced process termination, Homebrew changes or Keychain deletion.

WINDOWS 10/11
Extract the ZIP first. Double-click claude-cleanup-windows.cmd. It launches
Windows PowerShell with a confirmation, without changing execution policy.
If Windows or enterprise policy blocks scripts, do not disable that protection.
Review with your administrator, or use Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
PowerShell preview (does not change anything):
  .\claude-cleanup-windows.ps1 -DryRun
Confirmed cleanup / cache-only / local data reset:
  .\claude-cleanup-windows.ps1 -Apply
  .\claude-cleanup-windows.ps1 -Apply -CacheOnly
  .\claude-cleanup-windows.ps1 -Apply -ResetData
Only the known Claude Store package family and Authenticode-verified Anthropic
legacy Update.exe uninstallers are supported. MSI, enterprise, machine-wide and
custom installation paths require Settings. No registry broad-matching or wildcards
are used to remove files. No automatic privilege escalation or CLI removal.

Store uninstall removes application sandbox data even without -ResetData. The
script MUST back up that sandbox first using robocopy; backup errors stop the
uninstall. Local-only sessions/settings may need manual restoration after reinstall.
Recovery location: %LOCALAPPDATA%\HyperAITools\ClaudeCleanup\<timestamp-guid>\
Read manifest.json. Backups may contain sensitive sign-in/session data. Keep them
private and delete them yourself only after checking the result. This does not
promise a complete operating-system restore. Backups consume disk space.

TEST STATUS
macOS: syntax, fixture safety checks and preview tested. No actual user app removed.
Windows: see website release notes for validation; no live Windows removal test.
